Support Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) Interior Designers, Architects, and Creatives

Creating opportunities and promoting diversity for future generations

DCDC is a local organization of Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) interior design professionals dedicated to the education and training of future generations of interior designers. While providing industry-wide support for our current members, we are committed to promoting racial diversity within the rapidly expanding creative design community in the DC Metro Area and beyond.

Diversity and inclusion are essential components of a culturally vibrant interior design community. As members of the Design Collective DC (DCDC), we recognize the difficult challenges that young designers of color encounter in their careers. We are requesting your donations and support as a committed friend and partner of DCDC to support the next generation of designers. You can support DCDC members and our mentorship program by a one-time donation or a monthly donation of $25.00, $50.00 or $100.00. Every donation makes a difference.

DCDC MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM: DCDC is comprised of a collective of small minority owned interior design businesses that depend upon DCDC funds to provide infrastructure and support to grow and expand their programs and endeavors. Located in the DMV area that includes Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia, DCDC members provide interior design services nationally. Successful interior design studios are dependent upon client satisfaction and a stellar reputation for service. DCDC members know the importance of building their businesses one satisfied client at a time. Our members also know the value of referrals and distinctive designs. Going forward, DCDC members are cognizant of the importance of engaging local contractors and sustainable materials. These are invaluable lessons to share with new designers.

DCDC MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: Education and mentorships are the pathways to realizing career goals — certainly, it takes a village to support future success. As part of our Mentorship Program, we have set aside two funds:

  • FUTURE DESIGNER GRANTS:  A fund to support undergraduate training in interior design.

  • INTERNSHIPS AND MENTORING GRANTS: A fund to support new graduates and young artists in developing their design skills.
